Never Stop LIVING
2017 - 2018
Spearheaded by neuropsychologist and clinical associate professor Megan Sherod and supported through a UCF Quality Enhancement Program grant, I directed (alongside theatre associate professor Belinda Boyd, who served as producing director) featuring the stories of members of the Aphasia House, a UCF center offering rehabilitation services for survivors of stroke. These stories, collected by UCF undergraduate, graduate, and faculty members volunteering on the project, were crafted into the play "Never Stop LIVING," which was performed by mixed-ability performers at UCF Celebrates the Arts at the Dr Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in 2018. Following the performance, students facilitated a community discussion and interactive reception to provide multiple modes of reflecting and sharing thoughts about the performance to accommodate our diversely-abled audience and performers. The project aimed to give greater visibility and voice to the survivors of stroke.
